This print of my painting Polymnia is available in four sizes, with or without a white border.

It is reproduced on Hahnemühle Photo Rag®, 308 gsm, 100% cotton, museum standard, archival art paper.

The shimmering form of Polymnia was rendered by the meticulous, manual application of many thousands of white ink dots against a deep black background and sensualised with rich, evocative splashes of scarlet.

This artwork is part of my Muses collection of semi-abstract paintings, which is inspired by the stories, and my imaginings, of goddesses and other deities from Greek mythology.

Polymnia (also called Polyhymnia) is one of the nine Muses. Her name is derived from the Greek words “poly” (many) and “hymnos” (praise) and she presides over lyric poetry. She also was believed to have invented the lyre and I chose to name the painting after her partly because the sweeping curves of the figure remind me of the shape of a lyre.
