Study for My New Series of Paintings: “Muses”

Snippet of Study For New Series of Paintings

Here, below, is a study I created for a NEW SERIES of semi-abstract paintings that I am currently working on. The series is called “Muses“. Unlike the other pieces that I posted over the last few days, the forms in the new series will be less REALISTIC and a bit more SEMI-ABSTRACT.

I tested a range of materials until I got the right ingredients that culminated in this study. This and the pieces in the new series are created by rendering the underlying figure using a special white ink on heavy-duty black art paper, which first has a waterproof coating applied to it (so that the ink will not “flare” into the paper fibres), and then adding the splashes of red “camouflage”.

Black and white and red pen and ink painting of rear view of beautiful naked girl.

This study is A4 (11.7″ x 8.3″) in size and has several hundred dots of white ink forming the underlying figure.

However, the pieces in the NEW SERIES are much larger and more detailed than this and incorporate MANY THOUSANDS of dots – I’ll post these as I finish them and perhaps also include some time-lapse videos of the creation process. 😊

Prints of this artwork, in various sizes, are now available in my online shop. ♥️
